2025 Volvo EX90 price and specs: Premium seven-seat electric SUV undercuts rivals

Volvo’s EX90 seven-seat electric SUV will be offered in two grades starting from $124,990 before on-road costs with up to 380kW/910Nm.
Volvo has released pricing for its 2025 EX90 all-electric large SUV, and it undercuts key rivals from Germany.
Priced from $124,990 before on-road costs for the EX90 Plus Twin Motor, and $135,990 for the Ultra Twin Motor Performance grade, Volvo's large electric SUV slots in below the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV (from $134,900), Audi Q8 e-tron (from $153,984) and the BMW iX (from $$136,900).
However, it is far from the most affordable premium large electric SUV, with the Cadillac Lyriq (from $117,000) and mechanically related Polestar 3 (from $118,420) undercutting the new EX90.
Crucially though, the Volvo model is a three-row SUV – unlike any of its aforementioned rivals – and will be well equipped, with both versions fitted with a 111kWh for a claimed driving range of up to 570km.
Outputs in the base Plus Twin Motor reach 300kW/770Nm, while the Ultra Twin Motor Performance ups the ante to 380kW/910Nm – the latter matching the top-spec Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance Pack, but undercutting it by $9430.
The result is a zero to 100km/h acceleration time in a claimed 5.9 and 4.9 seconds respectively, while a 250kW DC-fast-charge capability means a 10-80 per cent top up can happen in around 30 minutes.
Maximum braked towing capacity for the EX90 is also 2200kg.
Volvo will also throw in five years of servicing into the EX90's price, which takes ownership to 75,000km.
Volvo is yet to fully detail exact specification across both grades, but promises the EX90 will take the brand's "globally renowned standards in safety to the next level" thanks to a camera, radar and lidar hardware set-up coupled with Nvidia-backed software.
Inside, buyers are also treated to Volvo's Nordico upholstery, as well as a 14.5-inch portrait-orientated infotainment screen powered by Google software and a 25-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system.
