The updated Rolls-Royce Cullinan has arrived in Australia with a price tag pushing $1 million drive-away – and an illuminated front grille.

The most expensive new SUV ever sold in Australia – the 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II – has arrived on local shores ahead of the first customer deliveries due by the end of the year.

The Series II update for the Cullinan brings refreshed exterior styling, new interior technology and additional trim options for what is Rolls-Royce’s first SUV and most popular model.

It is also more expensive, now starting from $777,000 plus on-road costs for the standard model – an increase of $72,000, or an entire BMW X1 xDrive 20i SUV, more than its predecessor.

The flagship Series II Black Badge starts from $895,000 plus on-road costs, up $85,000 – or one new BMW X3 – over the Series I version.

Once on-road costs and a sprawling array of options are added, drive-away prices push well beyond $1 million.

Australia is said to be among the Top Five markets in the Asia-Pacific region for sales of the Cullinan, which is claimed to have helped lower the average age of Rolls-Royce buyers from 56 in 2010 to 43 in 2024.

The Series II facelift introduces a restyled front fascia with an illuminated grille, more angular lower air intakes, and new LED headlights with inverted L-shaped LED daytime-running lights.

The side repeater lights have been deleted, 23-inch alloy wheels are now available – up from a maximum diameter of 22 inches previously – and there’s a new rear bumper with larger exhaust surrounds.

Inside, the central infotainment screen gains updated software, and in line with BMW models introduced since the Cullinan Series I launched in 2018, the three digital dials have been replaced by a widescreen instrument display.

The two screens are placed under a full-width glass panel, with the passenger side of the dashboard wearing Cullinan wording and an illuminated depiction of the company’s Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet statue.

Bluetooth headphones can now be paired with the rear-seat entertainment screens, in place of the car’s updated 18-speaker sound system.

There are updated personalisation options inside and out, including a new ‘Duality Twill’ rayon fabric made from bamboo.

Powering the standard Cullinan is a 420kW/850Nm 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V12 engine, which is boosted to 441kW and 900Nm in the Black Badge.

The V12 is matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels.

Australian customer deliveries of the 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II are due to commence between October and December 2024, with every vehicle built to order.
