Not just a show for Ferrari: here's what will happen after unveiling of 2025 F1 car

The 2024 Formula 1 season has just been archived, and the 2025 championship is already around the corner, with all teams working at full pace on the championship set to begin next March. By late February, the winter tests in Bahrain will offer fans and insiders the chance to see the new cars in action and gauge the initial competitive order. Before testing, however, teams will reveal the liveries of the cars for the 2025 championship (at the London event on February 18) and then unveil the actual cars during dedicated events. These presentations allow teams to showcase their new machines to the public and sponsors and, in some cases, even conduct the first kilometers of the season.
Ferrari leads the pack… on the date
Until last week, no team had announced the date for unveiling their new car, likely due to the need to align the London show with technical and commercial priorities. Ferrari, the first team to break the silence, has revealed when it will showcase the 677 project—the car that will be entrusted to Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton starting next year. This vehicle aims to continue the growth and return to success initiated by the SF-24. The unveiling will take place on Wednesday, February 19, in Maranello with a show likely consistent with previous years. From that moment, the team's technicians and drivers will await feedback from the track, keeping their comments reserved to avoid creating excessive or misleading expectations based on simulation data.
Straight to the track
As in previous seasons, after the unveiling show (this year attended by a select group of lucky individuals chosen from Ferrari Museum visitors), Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will participate in the car's shakedown. They will use the kilometers allotted by the FIA for the filming day, providing an initial feel for the car, verifying its functionality, and correlating data ahead of the Maranello teams' preparation tests for the new Formula 1 season.
For the Maranello team, this opportunity will, as always, be maximized, given the chance to use the Fiorano test track. Fans are expected to gather in large numbers to greet the first steps of the new car, fueled by dreams and hopes, and to show their support for both Charles Leclerc and newcomer Lewis Hamilton. Without a doubt, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion will have no trouble settling in and winning over his new audience.
